Thailand Gay Travel Tips

Thailand is considered one of the safest, friendliest and tolerant tourist destinations in the world. The country has always been open to gay couples so it should be top on your list for your next holiday trip with your partner. But before you embark on your journey, a few tips about the gay life in Thailand and the rules and regulations can help you plan your perfect holiday.

Gay Rights in Thailand

Unlike many other nations, Thailand offers several rights to same-sex partners. A recent law criminalizes any form of discrimination against the gay community just because of their sexual orientation. The age of consent for sexual engagements is 16 for everybody. Same-sex activities are legal although same-sex marriage is not.

Gay Tourist Regions in Thailand

Apart from the big cities, Thailand is dotted with lesser-known destinations that are also just perfect for the LGBT community. Of these, Koh Samui requires special mention as it is truly a virgin tropical paradise where you can spend your vacation in complete privacy at a Koh Samui gay resort.

Other regions worth visiting are Chiang Mai, Krabi, Koh Samet, Koh Chang and Koh Pha-Ngan. All these places offer almost the same facilities for gay partners where they can spend a few days in a totally safe and tolerant environment.

Gay Life in Thailand

Although the more famous urban areas offer the biggest gay entertainment, the lesser-known areas are no less attractive. For example, the island of Koh Samui has some of the top-rated dance bars, nightclubs, restaurants, gay-only spas and saunas and plenty of Koh Samui gay resort to suit every budget.

At our Koh Samui gay resort, we organise large gay parties and gay fashion shows throughout the year and on special occasions to make our guests feel extra special.

Best Time to Visit

If Koh Samui is your choice destination, the best time to visit the island is between November and April with December being the peak season. For gay vacationers, the English New Year’s Eve and the Thai New Year (Songkran) are extra special occasions to get an experience of all the entertainment that’s on offer.

During these special occasions, you can just go wild and enjoy plenty of parties, fashion shows, dance shows, wild celebrations and much more at our Koh Samui gay resort.

However, if solitude is what you desire and want to spend quality time with your partner at our Koh Samui gay resort, the off-season during the monsoons is your best bet.
